The legacy of the skills shortage means employers need to look wider and more openly from a recruitment perspective. Due to a pending retirement, WDG began looking to recruit a welder/fabricator to add to their manufacturing team and are pleased to announce that Charlotte (Charlie) Braund joined the company at the beginning of October.

Wayne Shirley – Shop Floor Supervisor said “Charlie comes with welding and fabrication qualifications that have immediately been  put to good use, plus Charlie has become an integral part of the team in a very short space of time”. Wayne commented further by saying “having another talented and enthusiastic member of the team is like a breath of fresh air and helps to make my job easier from a manufacturing planning perspective”.

Rob Hudson – Managing Director said in a recent interview “as the company develops, we need to move with the times and to attract the right calibre of personnel to help us sustain our growth plans and Charlie fits the profile perfectly”. Rob went on to say “we are proud to boast our support of women in industry, seeing this as a very positive step for the future”.
